Applications are open for the MAP Academy & Nalli Fellowships dedicated to fostering critical research on the textile traditions of South Asia (India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Tibet and the Maldives). Four Research Fellowships, each with a grant of INR 5,50,000 will be awarded to support one year of an ongoing, or a new, project. At the end of the Fellowship period, written or audio-visual output are expected; these will be hosted on the MAP Academy website. We are looking for project proposals based on underexplored textiles, particularly those with a focus on their historical, ecological, religious and socioeconomic dimensions.
