[]
European Coatings
On 28 May 2025, BASF and Domo signed an agreement granting BASF the right to acquire Domo’s 49 % stake in their joint venture Alsachimie.
Located in Chalampé, France, Alsachimie produces key intermediates for polyamide 6.6, including KA oil, adipic acid and hexamethylenediamine adipate (AH salt).
Strengthening the European production baseDr Stephan Kothrade, Member of the Board of Executive Directors of BASF SE, emphasised that the acquisition represents a strategic move to reinforce the company’s long-term competitiveness in Europe.
The Chalampé site serves as BASF’s European hub for polyamide production, and full control over Alsachimie will allow for further optimisation of the production structure.
Domo views the transaction as aligned with its strategy to focus on tailored polyamide solutions for core markets such as automotive, electronics, industrial and consumer goods.
