Wacker has started manufacturing hybrid polymers at a newly built production facility in Nünchritz, Saxony. These reactive binders are primarily used in construction and assembly adhesives as well as in liquid sealants for roofs and balconies. The new facility is currently ramping up and forms part of the company’s strategic expansion in the field of reactive polymers. Hybrid polymers combine the benefits of silane-modified systems with other polymer technologies and are increasingly used as binders in the adhesives and sealants industry. With this expansion, Wacker is responding to growing demand in this segment.
