On 12 June 2025, Syensqo officially opened its new microbiology, (eco-)toxicology and biotechnology laboratory in Lyon, France. Covering 550 m², the facility is now the company’s largest microbiology lab worldwide and is set to serve as a reference centre for biodegradability and environmental safety testing. Fully integrated into Syensqo’s global research network, the lab will collaborate closely with other facilities to streamline testing processes. This will allow the lab to support product registration processes. “Our new microbiology lab significantly enhances our ability to create safe and biodegradable solutions,” said Thomas Canova, Head of Research and Innovation and of the Renewable Materials and Biotechnology Growth Platform at Syensqo.
