Thread-locking coatings are widely used across various industries to prevent the unintended loosening of threaded joints. In her Bachelor’s thesis, Sabrina Teixeira Guedes, supervised by Prof Dr Markus Schackmann, examines which chemical and mechanical properties are crucial for ensuring consistent quality. The findings will form the basis for drafting a new DIN standard that sets out the minimum requirements for thread-locking coatings.
