Elbit Systems UK (ESUK) has successfully attained Initial Operating Capability (IOC) for its next-generation Interim Indirect Fires Simulation (IIDFS), designed to offer synthetic training to the British Army for the 81mm Mortar and 105mm Light Gun. The IIDFS platform offers a substantial improvement to artillery and mortar training, minimising the necessity for live firing. ESUK training teams will also be crucial in training personnel over the next year, with the team scheduled to deliver 46 weeks of training. Martin Fausset, CEO of Elbit Systems UK stated: “IIDFS delivers a cost efficient, immersive way to train – bringing realism to synthetic training environments. It’s a powerful tool for developing operational readiness, and we’re proud to be playing a role in training British troops.”
