As the Mets face a difficult fight for the postseason with two games remaining, New York called up top prospect Dylan Ross on Saturday to help out in the bullpen. In an additional move, the Mets placed infielder Brett Baty on the injured list with a right oblique strain while outfielder Jared Young was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse. Ross was called up from Triple-A Syracuse, where he notched a 1.69 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 32 innings pitched over 28 relief outings. Ross, 25, was drafted by the Mets in the 13th round in 2022. Herget, 34, had a 3.00 ERA over six relief appearances with the Mets this season after starting the season with the Atlanta Braves.
