Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai has arrived in Abuja to push forward the Malala Fund’s priorities on girls’ education in Nigeria. Dakum explained that Malala is in Nigeria with her father and co-founder Ziauddin Yousafzai, the Fund’s Chief Executive Officer Lena Alfi, and board members to advance the Fund’s core priorities. She will also hold engagements with key government and civil society leaders to accelerate progress on girls’ education across Nigeria. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Malala Fund has pledged $50 million U.S. dollars globally to tackle barriers hindering girls’ access to education, with a significant share earmarked for Nigeria. Founded in 2013 by Malala and Ziauddin Yousafzai, the Malala Fund continues to champion free, safe, and quality education for every girl around the world.
