The Labour Party has raised alarm after its National Chairman, Julius Abure, was allegedly assaulted by a woman identified as Precious Oruche, popularly known as Mama P, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. The incident, which happened on Friday, prompted the party leadership to accuse “anti-democratic elements” of sponsoring the aggression. The Labour Party expressed shock after a video later emerged in which the woman allegedly boasted of her connections. The party leadership denounced the incident as “a suicidal aggression” against Abure and insisted it was politically motivated. Urging members not to retaliate, the Labour Party appealed for calm while awaiting the outcome of police investigations.
