After a year-long hiatus, hundreds of determined runners laced up their sneakers and hit the streets to run Sioux Falls on Sunday for the long-awaited return of the 2025 Sioux Falls Marathon, proudly powered by the Sioux Falls Sports Authority. According to Dakota News Now, the 2025 Sioux Falls Marathon welcomed runners from 48 states and several countries. That’s right, people came from all over the world just to voluntarily run long distances in South Dakota. There were 402 total finishers, making this the biggest turnout for the Sioux Falls marathon, half-marathon, and 5K since 2019. Whether you PR’d or PRed (that’s “painfully regretted”) your decision to run, you’re officially part of Sioux Falls running history.
