(Photo credit: Eric Hartline-Imagn Images)The Los Angeles Chargers signed safety Tony Jefferson to the active roster from the practice squad on Thursday, filling the spot vacated after linebacker Khalil Mack was placed on injured reserve. Also on Thursday, Los Angeles signed former first-round defensive end Clelin Ferrell and safety Rashad Weaver to the practice squad. Jefferson, 33, has recorded 32 tackles and an interception in nine games (five starts) over the last two seasons after coming out of retirement to sign with the Chargers. He has 159 tackles, 17 sacks and four forced fumbles in 89 games (57 starts) with the Raiders (2019-22), 49ers (2023) and Commanders (2024). He has totaled 49 tackles and two forced fumbles in 36 career games (four starts) with the Tennessee Titans (2021-23) and Houston Texans (2024).
