No injuries were reported after a grass fire in Burmarrad on Saturday morning was brought under control after five hours of “intensive firefighting”, the Civil Protection Department said. A total of 20 firefighters from stations 1, 3 and 11 were involved in the operation using eight fire appliances on the scene and 70,000 litres of water. Police and Mater Dei Hospital’s emergency department were on hand to support the operation.
