More infoAn alarming increase in the amount of debris being left by visitors to Dartmoor has led to an appeal being issued by park rangers.
Hot weather has led to an increased interest in Dartmoor's wild camping status which has seen a large amount of content posted on social media.
Dartmoor is unique as it is the only location where wild camping is permitted legally in England.
The challenge came from the sixth-largest landowner in Dartmoor and was centred on Section 10 (1) of the Dartmoor Commons Act 1985.
They found that due to the wording of the term, wild camping was a permitted activity within the park.
