The Reform UK leader announced a future Reform government would abolish the right of immigrants to qualify for permanent residency (PR) in the UK after five years. Under the plans, immigrants would need to reapply for new visas with tougher rules, while Reform would abolish Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), which gives immigrants access to benefits. As Labour crashes in the polls, the government increasingly challenges the practicalities of Reform policies but not the spirit.
