Kamala Harris is pushing back on claims made by Joe Rogan, saying the podcaster “lied” when he suggested she refused to discuss marijuana legalization during the 2024 campaign. In her new book, 107 Days, Harris says her team actually pitched cannabis as one of the main topics. Harris says her staff proposed issues like marijuana, social media censorship, and cryptocurrency for a potential Rogan appearance, but his team narrowed the focus to the economy, immigration, and abortion. After the election, which secured Donald Trump’s second term, Rogan told listeners Harris “didn’t want to talk about marijuana legalization.” He later said he found her supposed reluctance “hilarious,” but Harris writes that the opposite was true. Her version of events directly contradicts Rogan’s account, including his comments on-air when comedian Adrienne Iapalucci asked why Harris wouldn’t want to talk about marijuana.
