(Photo credit: Jayne Kamin-Oncea-Imagn Images)The Houston Astros placed slugger Yordan Alvarez on the 10-day injured list Friday and reinstated All-Star third baseman Isaac Paredes from the 60-day IL. Paredes, 26, batted .259 with 19 home runs and 50 RBIs in 94 games before the injury, earning his second All-Star selection. He has only played in 48 games this season after missing 100 straight games earlier this year due to a fractured right hand. Alvarez, a three-time All-Star, is hitting .273 with six home runs and 27 RBIs in 2025. Houston also transferred right-hander Kaleb Ort (elbow) to the 60-day IL to open up a 40-man roster spot for Paredes.
