PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s Minister of Environment, Hambardzum Matevosyan, met with European Union Commissioner for Environment, Water, Oceans and Fisheries, Jessica Roswall, during a series of meetings in New York. The discussion focused on preparations for the upcoming 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, scheduled to be held in Armenia in October 2026, and explored potential avenues for cooperation. Minister Matevosyan stressed the importance of applying effective methodologies and accurate approaches to achieve targeted and tangible outcomes. They also reviewed the organizational process for COP17, upcoming tasks, and preparatory steps needed to ensure a streamlined and effective event. The 17th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity is scheduled to take place in Armenia from October 18 to 30, 2026.
