Singh Jamwal on Saturday accused environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk of inciting the deadly unrest in Leh on September 24, which claimed four lives and left more than 70 people—including police and paramilitary personnel—injured. Investigations into his funding and potential FCRA violations are ongoing.”He claimed that Wangchuk’s speeches had directly triggered the violence in Leh. The principal figure in this unrest is Sonam Wangchuk, who has previously attempted to derail talks with the Centre,” he said. The DGP Ladakh said that political negotiations on statehood and Sixth Schedule protections have been ongoing since Ladakh became a Union Territory.
