The incident occurred shortly before 5pm this afternoon in Carrigrohane, just outside of Cork city.
The pedestrian, a man in his 20s, received medical treatment at the scene and was later taken to hospital for assessment.
A Garda spokesperson said: "Shortly before 5:00pm, Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian at Carrigrohane, Co. Cork.
"The pedestrian, a male in his 20s, received treatment at the scene and was subsequently taken to hospital for assessment.
