The distillery, which eventually became Bardstown Distillery, was built by Jim Beam himself. There were many times when Dad went fishing, and we had fried catfish for dinner. One day, Dad got a call from the neighbor, Mr. Blandford, who owned a cattle farm adjacent to the distillery. Mr. Blandford asked Dad to come up to the farm because he wanted to show him something.
