McMaster students can now access free soup and bread three times a week, as part of efforts by the MSU Food Collective Centre to address growing food insecurityThe MSU Food Collective Centre launched its new Soup and Bread initiative on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025. The program, which will run throughout the school year, offers chicken noodle soup or a halal and vegetarian lentil vegetable soup. “I think the soup and bread is a huge stepping stone for FCC and for the McMaster community,” said Ying. In addition to the soup and bread program, the FCC also offers monthly cooking workshops, food drives and educational campaigns throughout the year. Interested students can access the free soup and bread by visiting the FCC office on the third floor of the Hub.
