As the university continues to grow, it must address a significant oversight: the integration and support of its commuter student population. The challenges facing commuter students stem largely from transportation logistics, which subsequently impact students’ abilities to participate in campus life. While in-person participation remains valuable, the current system often fails to acknowledge the unique constraints facing commuter students. This makes it difficult to forge a sense of community, considering that the majority of commuter students avoid staying on campus longer than they need to. These strategies would give commuter students greater flexibility to engage without needing to be physically present on campus for every session.
