Neil Young has unveiled an 11-minute single to go along with the announcement of his next Chrome Hearts album Second Song. Second Song is the follow-up to last year’s Talkin to the Trees, the debut project from Young’s band the Chrome Hearts. The group recorded the new album at the same location (Shangri-La Studios) and with the same producers (Lou Adler, joined by “the Volume Delaers,” aka Young and Niko Bolas) as the first. It arrives three months after the clothing company Chrome Hearts dropped its trademark infringement claim against Young. Fenix Flexin took up most of the oxygen on this week’s episode of “Is this AI or not?,” but labelmate Tyga pulled his share too. Like “Rubberz,” the “Rack City” rapper’s latest album, the ’80s-indebted $tarface, has faced multiple accusations of being at least partially made with artificial intelligence. Not only does Tyga admit the accusations are true, but he is using the current go-to explanation (excuse?) If you like it, you like it; if you don’t, you don’t. Some people were opposed to it, but real artists took it and used it.”

Meshell Ndegeocello has recruited Cat Power for a cover of the Human League’s “Don’t You Want Me.” The second single from Ndegeocello’s duets album Synonym—improbably populated with guests ranging from Chaka Khan to Bill Callahan—builds the synth-pop classic out from a dub reggae groove, with Ndegeocello and Chan Marshall trading verses, conversing in the pre-chorus, and eventually uniting. Ndegeocello launched Synonym with another blast from the 1980s, duetting with Cynthia Erivio on a cover of Aretha Franklin and George Michael’s “I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me).” Other guests on the LP include Anohni, Brandi Carlile, Khruangbin’s Laura Lee, Lianne La Havas, Moses Sumney, Nick Hakim, Madison Cunningham, and Robert Glasper. Conan O’Brien is hitting the road again for another series of travel specials (which he recently teased in his Harvard commencement address: For Season 3 of Conan O’Brien Must Go, he’ll be visiting the countries of India, the Netherlands, Morocco, and the Philippines in his own distinctive way. This will include, of course, many moments when he gets mocked by the locals. The first episode of Conan O’Brien Must Go debuts August 21st on HBO Max, with subsequent episodes released weekly on Fridays. A new documentary titled Neil Peart: No One’s Disciple is set to premiere on CBC on September 23rd, and it will feature the surviving RUSH members performing with a handful of notable drummers. Warner Bros. Discovery has confirmed that a live-action version of the 1960s animated series The Jetsons, starring Jim Carrey, is in development. The film, which was reported in October 2025 as having Colin Trevorrow attached to direct, was mentioned in Warner Bros.’ second-quarter 2026 shareholder letter among its upcoming slate of new releases. It is currently set for release “beyond 2027” alongside the Game of Thrones feature Aegon’s Conquest, the next Matrix movie, and the sequel to Matt Reeves’ The Batman. Confirmed for 2027 are Bradley Cooper and Margot Robbie’s Ocean’s Eleven prequel, James Gunn’s next Superman movie, Man of Tomorrow, the sequel to A Minecraft Movie, The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, and J.J. Abrams’ The Great Beyond.

Phoebe Bridgers Announces Lost Weekend Planetarium Experience

Phoebe Bridgers is sending fans to the stars for the release of her new album, Lost Weekend, with a series of immersive listening events at planetariums around the world. Each phone-free session will pair Lost Weekend with one of two visual presentations: a custom dome show designed by night-sky photographer Babak Tafreshi or an immersive laser show created by Laser Fantasy. Participating venues include Chicago’s Adler Planetarium, San Francisco’s Morrison Planetarium, Paris’ Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie, and Melbourne Planetarium. The 16-track record includes the lead single “Lost Boys”, and Bridgers previously revealed its full tracklist in July. Following the album’s release, Bridgers will take Lost Weekend on the road with “The Lost Tour,” her first solo headlining trek in several years.
